The Operations DIvision responsibilities include the following:
The daily operations and deployment are led by three (3) battalion chiefs in each of the Authority's three districts. The battalion chiefs supervise all of the personnel, stations, and incidents within the Authority. Firefighters and Emergency Medical Service (EMS) personnel work 48 hours on, 96 hours off and change shifts at 8 a.m. every other day.
Daily, the Authority's service areas are staffed with over 81 trained personnel ready to respond to any type of emergency. The Authority currently staffs 10 Paramedic Engine Companies, 1 Paramedic Ladder Company and 16 Paramedic Ambulance Units 24 hours per day / 7 days per week. All Operation / Deployment personnel are either Paramedics or EMT’s that are trained to provide Basic or Advanced Life Support for any medical emergency within its 12 strategically located fire stations.
Homeland Security including law enforcement partnerships, personal de-escalation/defense program, law enforcement partnerships, hazard vulnerability assessments (including personnel, facilities, and apparatus), develops plans/cost analysis/ priorities, cybersecurity program (information technology support), Threat Liaison Officer (TLO) program, and Homeland Security. The Continuity of Operations Section protects our communities by assuring facility and employee security as well as serving as a liaison for all law enforcement agencies that interact with the Authority.
